The Power of “Like”

I wasn’t going to blog again today but I just had to say I am love love loving finding out how truly massive the potential is for marketing via social media.

It may not seem like a lot to you, but in the last week my blog has reached 608 people! Makes me bounce off the walls!

And of the 41 people that have Liked my page that gives me potential access to nearly 12,000 other people who are their friends. Out of 41 fans!

I find it nuts when I think about the people who have 30/40/50,000 Likes, that marketing potential is huge! It’s seems massive with my 41!

Never ever viewed Social Media like that before, but having access to my own statistics page and watching the graph curve upwards makes my tummy tingle with joy!

I have done so much work in sales, pounding the pavement, cold calling, just rocking up at businesses and trying to engage people, most people are nice, they realise it’s just your job, but others can be pricks (it’s really the only suitable word) and honestly the only leads I got were the ones I actively sought out, and there really is only a limited number of hours you can try and connect with people during the day.

But this! The possibilities are endless! While I sleep potential leads are reading my blog and signing up to follow, this is like mass marketing 24 hours a day, and I don’t have to work 24 hours a day!

I took Jett and the dog down to the river a couple of days ago and while the dog was whining because I wouldn’t let him off the lead, and Jett was building some kind of water funnel (don’t ask) I was stretched out on the rug, under the tree, shoes off, replying to a bunch of amazing comments on WordPress from people I had never met. Would I trade that to go back to pounding the pavement in high heels talking to one person at a time? Haha no way!!!

I know this is only the tip of the iceberg, but holy moly it’s so exciting!

And I have just finished a one on one business planning session with my mentor, so once I put more steps in place I can’t wait to see what happens to my tracking Graph next! 🙂

Cant wipe the smile off my face!
